Stormwater Management System Design Task Force. August 2009 – November 2009. Designed, convened and facilitated a legislatively established Task Force charged with developing legislative recommendations relating to stormwater management system design in the state. The Task Force developed and submitted a consensus package of recommendations to the 2010 Florida Legislature regarding how a licensed and registered professional might demonstrate competency for stormwater system management designing, and how the Board of Professional Engineers and the Board of Landscape Architecture might administer certification tests or continuing education requirements for stormwater management system design.
Legislative Strategies for Agriculture’s Role in a Viable and Sustainable Future for Florida. June 2006. Commissioner Bronson and several Florida legislatures convened over 60 agricultural producer leaders and governmental representatives representing cattle, dairy, vegetable, sugar, citrus and other fruits, nursery, forestry, aquaculture and fertilizer/pesticide/biotech sectors. In addition, State legislative leaders on agricultural issues, water management district, local government and Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services leaders and senior staff participated. The FCRC designed, facilitated and reported on the workshop culminating with a package of recommendations submitted to the Florida Legislature.
Port of Ft. Pierce Master Plan Update. July 2001 – February 2002. Port Master Plan Update requiring comprehensive plan amendment. Assessment and facilitation of public workshops and joint workshop between City and County Commissions. Designed and facilitated four public input meetings with stakeholders—including environmental, business, property owners, business owners, minority interests, and city and county government—to solicit input for the preparation and adoption of a comprehensive Deepwater Port Master Plan for the Port of Fort Pierce. Following development of the final draft by the FAU Joint Center, a facilitated joint workshop with the Fort Pierce City Commission and the St. Lucie County Board of County Commission was held and agreement was reached between the two bodies on the Plan.
Lee County Land Use Assessment. 2003. Co-conducted a feasibility assessment to determine the viability for negotiating a resolution between stakeholders on a Burt Harris Act claim filed against Lee County Florida.
St. Lucie and Martin MPOs— MPO Redesignation Workshop. 2003. Co-facilitated joint workshop for MPO and TAC members.
Citrus County Appropriate Public Use Workshop. 2000. Co-facilitated and designed assessment and planning workshops.
Woodmont Pond Mediation. 1999. Co-designed, facilitated/mediated, and reported on mediation sessions between Leon County and stakeholder groups to resolve ongoing land-use dispute.
Leon County Growth Management Mediation Program. 1999. Co-designed mediation process for Leon County Growth Management Department and presented implementation recommendations to the County Commission.
